This is an environmental piece I did several years ago. It has withstood the elements quite nicely. The metal pieces, a plow shear and a wheel rim, were treasures I found out in our little woods.
I have decided to venture off of "blog land" for a period of time. I am drawn into another realm of creativity, and must take some time to immerse myself into it. It seems to start with "stillness", and then the direction is pretty unclear. That's the beauty of it, the mystery.
I will check in again on the 13th of June, to let you know how it's going. Until then, Smile On!

This is a wool felted figure I made. She stands about 13", and is completely made of wool.
I hope you have a little sway in your walk through this Monday. I saw a cluster of lovely green leaves in the edge of the woods this weekend. No blooming May flowers, yet. However, the leaves are a promise of what is to come.

This is another Victorian album I purchased. It was in pretty nice shape, and so it only required a little clean up. The soft faded lavender color, and the flowers are just lovely. I added the metal letters to it.
The brass closure is original, and still works.
The inside is pristine! And, the pages all have this garland around the edges.
I would like to wish my son and his bride of fifteen years, a Happy Anniversary!! They are so cute together, and with four children, their lives are truly blessed.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there, may you be showered with Love.

This is the cover from a Victorian photo album. Dates from the late 1800's. I just love the text on this, very cool graffiti, don't you think? It says "Album", can you make that out? The letters are made out of the first "plastic", and the cover has a crushed velvet-like fabric over it.

Sometimes we need to come out fighting on a Monday morning!! This is Freddy the Fighter, he is a very old puppet. I made him about 30 years ago. My son and Freddy would have a grand time, and spar away the afternoon. The other day my grandson was sparing with Freddy, ol' Fred held his own, and still managed to bring some delight to a child.
May you be a champ today in your own "ring of life"! : ) Audrey

Happy May Day! I know these are not exactly "May Flowers". I would like to send to you, warm and sunny thoughts. This is a couple more cactus I crocheted the other day. The little thistles are waxed thread.
There was a time when I had quite a collection of real cactus. Interesting plants to attempt to keep alive. Curiosity of small grandchildren, led to my reconsidering the practicality of having the plants accessible to little fingers. Not a happy child who carries little stinging things in the ends of their fingers!
Crocheted softies are much more doable in my world! May your May Day be filled with Happy Thoughts!! Smile On...dear ones! Audrey : )
