Aaaaahhhhhh...so cute. This little one-eyed blue monster came about as a complete surprise! I was using that lovely light blue, crochet hook in hand, and total free-form. As the yarn meandered into these textures and patterns, I noticed a foot appeared. At that point I thought, well let's see if I can make another foot....there it was! The little critter had no facial features, and begged for an eye, one eye! Several shades of blues, and there it could see into the world.
Spontaneity can be sooo much fun. I hope your Monday holds a happy surprise for you!
(I just proof read this, and used spell check...editing is my weak point! I usually miss something.)

I am retracting some info hear on these two musical instruments.....I tried to edit....can't seem to get the job done any other way then this.
The front and backs of the dulcimer and the mandola are made from soft maple, not poplar.
The other day we purchased this piece of pottery at a local gallery. It's a work done by a local artist, and good friend. Ed spotted it first up on the shelf, and it is a nice addition to our collection of this artists work.
Hope your weekend is restful and relaxing! Smile On! Audrey : )

This is a mandola. It has a completely different sound then a dulcimer. It's a four string. The fret board and sides are made out of an African wood called padauk. The top and back of this instrument are made out of poplar. It measures 25" x 8" x 3 1/8". A beautiful instrument! Ed enjoys attempting different instruments and using a variety of woods. "Little Red", is a success!!
May you hear beautiful music today. Smile On! Audrey

Good Morning! This is a project I had on the "back burner" for quite some time. I purchased the little sink, tub and toilet, several years ago. With the intention of creating a little victorian-modern bathroom. Well, the other day it seemed to be the thing to do. So, I looked through all my lovely papers, and picked out the colors for the walls, and the floor.
I used old vintage earrings for the wall accessories, the cover of a spray worked out well for the little green trash can. ( I have a small box of plastic "junk" I save just for such odd bits I need). The toilet paper roll, is a pin clasp, that holds the roll of paper just right.
The wall display above the little green table, is a set of earrings, and a cameo. The jars on the purchased table, are large beads. The table was red, so it needed to be painted to work in this room. The towel holders are also pin clasps. The towels are a paper, with a nice weight to it to hang properly. A tiny little natural sponge, sits on the edge of the tub, next to the faucets.
This is a fun project, creating rooms in miniature. I put this bathroom, next to the French bedroom, I made several years ago. On suite, as they say.
Happy Week to You All! Audrey : )

The music man is at it again. My husband, Ed, built this beautiful dulcimer. We fondly call them, the music boxes. This one is made with poplar, and that lovely fret board and the sides are made with purple heart. The two woods really compliment each other. It measures 25" x 8" x 3 1/8". It's tuned to DAD, and has the most sweet tone.
This is a close up of the side, the color is quite unusual, and adds a unique look to this dulcimer. He also strung it with 4 strings, and used copper on the top and the bottom.
Well done, my sweet ol' man! Keep it simple today, people! Audrey : )

Monday morning. The lunch box is packed, and ready. Let's see what we have in there for lunch.
Well, it looks like potato chips, peanut butter sandwich, a dill pickle with a carton of milk, oh yes, a sweet Florida orange. Yummy!
And to top it all off, chocolate cookies. Two extra to share if your feeling generous...then again it is Monday. Justification for having extra chocolate, maybe?
All of these items were crocheted. The lunch box is a retro-vintage, and I used it for several years to tote my lunch in.
I want to Thank You, for stopping in today. Hope you have a good week!
