Octagon Banjo

A homemade octagon banjo, came from the dusty shop of my sweet ol' music man.  He built this with some beautiful flame maple wood.  It's a  4-string, and has a 26 1/4" fret scale.  The black head is 8" in diameter, and the octagon measures 11" across.   It's about 2 3/4" deep.

You can see the flame maple in the last two photos.  It is one beautiful instrument.  And, it sounds as good as it looks!   It's tuned to DGBD.      (The quilt in the back ground was made by a friend of mine-nice work Pat!)

One last photo to share with you.

Hope your day is filled with a happy tune!             Audrey
